Dominic Haines, wrestler who broke neck at state championships, graduates from Jefferson High

JEFFERSON, Ga. — Dominic Haines, the Jefferson High wrestler who broke his neck at the state championships in February, crossed the stage at graduation this weekend in a moment underscoring the determination he’s displayed since the injury.

11Alive’s Kaitlyn Ross posted the update on Haines, who initially had no feeling from the shoulders down after the injury.

“He was determined to finish high school with his class. And today, surrounded by friends, family, and a community that has never stopped cheering for him, he did just that,” Kaitlyn posted on Facebook. “Dominic’s courage, strength, and resilience have inspired thousands. He’s already accomplished more than most do in a lifetime, not just by graduating, but by showing the world what it means to fight with everything you have.”…
