BUFORD, Ga. — A Buford family is asking for support from the community after a tragic loss in Florida.
Peter and Sonia Nguyen, ages 57 and 54, drowned while vacationing in Destin on May 27. Their 22-year-old daughter, Sara, is now the sole caregiver of her brother, who has an intellectual disability, and her grandmother as she navigates this tragic loss.
Last month, the husband and wife, along with their son, were spotted struggling in the waters about 75-100 yards offshore, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said, when the bystander grabbed a boogie board to try and go out and help them. The parents, however, did not survive…
