GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – Gwinnett County residents are being warned about a surge in phone scams involving callers who impersonate local law enforcement officers—using fear and urgency to trick victims into handing over money.
The callers often use real or fabricated names, badge numbers, and even spoofed caller IDs to make the scam seem legitimate. Victims are typically threatened with arrest, legal charges, or other consequences unless they pay up immediately.
