Over the weekend, a disgraceful scene unfolded at the King Center in Atlanta, where Brent Jones, 26, was arrested for vandalizing a monument integral to the American civil rights movement. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, police reports state Jones got into an altercation and subsequently urinated in the reflecting pool near the crypts of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

Atlanta Police responded to the trespassing call at around 4:30 a.m. last Saturday. The total damage inflicted by Jones is estimated to be around $3,000. Faced with several charges including criminal damage to property, trespassing, public indecency, and obstruction of law enforcement, Jones was detained at the Fulton County Jail.
