Georgia public university workers union protests return-to-office mandate

The union representing employees at Georgia’s public universities is protesting a mandate ending remote work.

Around 20 members and supporters of the United Campus Workers of Georgia, which represents the state’s public university faculty, staff and student workers, rallied at Georgia State University on Tuesday.

The University System of Georgia began implementing the return-to-office mandate for the 2025-26 academic year in order to encourage employees to better support students and complete work in a timely manner. Those who don’t comply with the mandate will face termination…
