CONYERS, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Senior citizens thought they were buying their forever homes in a retirement community in Conyers, but now claim the builder broke promises and refused to let them take control of their HOA.
Atlanta News First Investigates found this community is listed in a federal fraud case. The builder currently owes nearly $50 million of a $190 million judgment linked to an alleged two-decade-long “nursing home investment scheme.” The lawsuit refers to this same Conyers community, among several, in the complaint.
Many homeowners at Creekside at Olde Town in Conyers are now in their 70s and 80s and are worried that if their HOA dues continue increasing, they may lose their homes if they cannot afford to pay.
