Georgia leaders call for pause after Waymo vehicles pass stopped school buses

ATLANTA — Georgia leaders are calling for a range of action after a series of videos showed Waymo self-driving cars illegally passing Atlanta Public Schools buses with stop signs extended and lights flashing.

11Alive obtained multiple recordings of the incidents, with the district reporting six violations to date. Similar cases in Atlanta and Austin, Texas, have prompted federal scrutiny from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as Waymo continues expanding its autonomous vehicle operations nationwide.
