Apalachee High School shooting suspect Colt Gray attended a status hearing, drawing widespread attention online due to his drastic shift in appearance. Defense attorney Aisha Broderick said his medical evaluation is incomplete and expected by late February.
Families of victims have filed legal notices alleging systemic failures and plan civil suits. Prosecutors indicted Colt Gray on 55 counts, including four felony murders.
Attorney Joshua Schiffer said, “The victims’ families have decided to sue the governmental agencies that they feel were the last and best agencies or groups able to prevent this tragedy.”
Schiffer added, “A lot of these agencies are going to hide behind sovereign immunity as the appropriate defense, because if not given those protections, it would be virtually impossible for the government to conduct business.”…
