For Brookwood star swimmer Nicole Amike, her relationship with the program and head coach Willie Hildebrand extends far beyond the pool.
The best member of the Broncos’ team is headed to swim at the University of Cincinnati after graduation in May, but before then, Amike is looking to repeat as the 50- and 100-yard freestyle state champion. The talented senior admits that her high school career hasn’t always been perfect, but Amike attributes a lot of her success to Hildebrand and her Brookwood teammates.
“Over the last four years, I would definitely say it’s been fun,” Amike said of her time at Brookwood. “All the friends that I’ve made on the team have carried me a long way. I’m someone who has really bad race anxiety, but being with my teammates and coaches has helped so much and I’m grateful.”…
