Man pleads guilty to North Myrtle Beach hotel killing, stashing body in vehicle

A Georgia man pleaded guilty to the 2023 murder of a woman in a North Myrtle Beach hotel, a month before his scheduled trial. He will now serve 30 years in prison for the killing.

Bornold Alastair Eberhart, 44, of Decatur, Ga., left his home state with the victim, Kristen Laymon, and came to South Carolina for a vacation at the Wyndham Hotel, according to a release from the Solicitor’s office. The pair went out the night they arrived, and when they returned, they could be seen on surveillance footage fighting in their car. Eventually, Laymon opened the door to the car while it was in motion.

Soon after, she exited the car and took the elevator back to their room. It was the last time she was seen alive…
