Jury to potentially decide on father of alleged Apalachee HS shooter’s father’s 27 charges

Final arguments were heard on Monday in the trial of Colin Gray — the alleged Apalachee High School shooter’s father.

Gray faces 27 charges for allegedly giving his son, Colt, access to the weapon used in the shooting. He originally faced 29 charges, but two of the victims in the cruelty to children charges did not testify, so they were dropped.

Now, the jury will deliberate on the 27 charges Colin faces.

Those charges include:

  • Charges 1-2: Murder in the second-degree
  • Charges 3-20: Cruelty to children in the second-degree
  • Charges 21-22: Involuntary manslaughter
  • Charges 23-27: Reckless conduct

Only the reckless conduct charges are misdemeanors, all the others are felonies and could carry over 100-years in prison if convicted on all of them…
