Georgia high school announces closure due to sewage blockage

GEORGIA — Riverwood International Charter School is closed Tuesday after a “significant” sewage blockage forced administrators to suspend in-person classes.

School officials said students were shifted to remote learning for the day while crews work to resolve the issue. All after-school activities and athletic events have also been canceled.

Principal Kindra Smith notified families of the closure in a letter, stating that maintenance teams are actively addressing the problem and updates will be provided as more information becomes available…
