‘It was a disaster’: Actor recalls moments ceiling collapsed at Lawrenceville rehearsal hall

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A theater company in Gwinnett County is rehearsing in a different space after the ceiling in their rehearsal room almost collapsed on top of them over the weekend.

The Aurora theater company was rehearsing “In the Heights” on Saturday afternoon when it happened, and Lawrenceville officials said it was caused by a leak in the sprinkler.

On Tuesday, actor Anthony Rodriguez shared pictures of the James and Sarah Borders rehearsal hall at the Lawrenceville Arts Center, which was covered in two feet of thick, waterlogged insulation and ceiling tiles…
