Nahjel Williams pleads not guilty to killing USPS worker in Decatur

ATLANTA — A man accused in the fatal shooting of a U.S. Postal Service worker pleaded not guilty Thursday in federal court in Atlanta.

Nahjel Williams is charged in the February killing of Dequavious Graves, a 31-year-old mail carrier who was filling in on a route in Decatur when he was shot and killed. Because Graves was a federal employee performing his duties at the time, federal authorities are prosecuting the case.

A federal grand jury indicted Williams last week on charges including first-degree murder and firearms offenses. Prosecutors said the murder charge carries a potential penalty of life in prison or the death penalty…
