With Malachi Moreno now officially back for his sophomore season in Lexington (phew), Mark Pope’s third-year roster seems to be approaching full completion. The Cats are working with a varied class of transfers and recruits from different corners of the player pool.
This time around, Coach Pope seemed to both recruit to fit his particular offensive style, as well as to balance a roster that had previously suffered from a lack of certainty at pivotal playmaking positions. Point guard, of course, was not the least of these. Kentucky has overloaded at that spot.
But a starting spot on the wingseems to remain open, with Kam Williams perhaps temporarily filling a spot that had been initially carved out for Tyran Stokes. And while five-star recruit Ryan Hampton seemed to be a pivot possibility, that has now officially faded…
