Woman accused of driving Tesla into downtown Lexington crowd faces new charges

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 20-year-old woman reportedly captured on video driving a Tesla into a downtown Lexington crowd has been indicted on several charges.

Court documents show that just before 2:15 a.m. on March 22, officers with the Lexington Police Department were working in the area of Short Street and Mill Street when they saw a “disorder” in a nearby parking lot.

Officer Amelia Hardy said she was on patrol that night when she saw 20-year-old Kaydence Abigail Carpenter drive over a curb and into a crowd of people on the sidewalk.

“She proceeded to drive the wrong way on Short Street, which is a one-way street, in a reckless manner, placing multiple people in danger and other vehicles,” said Hardy. “Multiple reported leg injuries, head injuries, and some have reported possible paralysis at this time.”…
