At least 4 Nicholasville buildings damaged by heavy rain, emergency officials say

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — As heavy rain and fierce winds caused multiple hazards on Thursday morning for Kentuckians, authorities in Nicholasville responded to multiple reports of damaged buildings, including a local shopping center.

Just after 10 a.m. on June 18, Jessamine County Emergency Management posted on Facebook that at least four Nicholasville structures had been damaged by Thursday’s weather events, including a roof collapse at Ollie’s and the Chinese Church of Lexington.

“If you experienced any damage, please send us a message or submit a damage assessment report,” officials wrote.

Anyone who has encountered damage or other safety hazards throughout Jessamine County was encouraged to report it by contacting the agency at (859) 887-2922…
