FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Another heavy rain and severe storm threat Sunday overnight and Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – It’s been a quiet weekend so far and most of Father’s Day looks good. It’s Sunday night and Monday that we are watching for yet another heavy rain and severe storm threat.

Some scattered showers will attempt to develop this evening with partly cloudy skies for the overnight. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Mostly sunny skies will be with us for the start of Father’s Day with increasing clouds and a stray shower or thunderstorm for the afternoon. It will be a very warm day with highs in the mid to upper 80s. A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY will begin Sunday afternoon ahead of another heavy rain and severe storm threat. Mostly cloudy skies will be with us for the evening with some scattered showers and thunderstorms arriving overnight. A few storms may be severe with damaging winds the main threat. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible that could lead to flash flooding issues. Lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s…
