Fayette County superintendent’s status dominates June board meeting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Monday night, the Fayette County school board held its June action meeting, where Acting Superintendent Bill Bradford delivered his first superintendent’s report.

The board also faced heated public comments as questions continued to surround the status of Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins.

At the meeting, board members addressed several agenda items, but one hot topic consumed the public comment section.

“Respectfully, Mr. Murphy, the only thing that matters right now is the status of the superintendent,” said public commenter Matthew Vied. “He needs to be fired with cause. There is plenty of reason to do so, and it should have been done before now, but it hasn’t.”…
