LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A centuries-old Lexington horse farm that was home to Kentucky Derby royalty has been listed for sale ahead of its October invitation-only auction.
Bluegrass Sotheby’s International Realty announced on Aug. 12 that Castleton, owned by the family of Irish airline Ryanair co-founder Tony Ryan, was listed for $57.5 million.

According to the international firm, Castleton was founded in 1793 and covers 951 acres. The estate was once home to 1896 Kentucky Derby winner Ben Brush and helped shape the careers of Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti, Grade 1 winners Jack Christopher and Gormley, and Test Stakes winner Chi Town Lady.
“The estate will be offered through the invitation-only Keeneland Championship Sale, presenting a rare opportunity to become the next steward of one of Kentucky’s most storied properties,” Bluegrass Sotheby’s wrote.
Auction organizers with Keeneland noted that the landmark equestrian estate wouldn’t just be offered during the Oct. 28 Championship Sale but would serve as its setting and final offering…
