LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Last night’s storms caused power outages and flooding in some areas, and we might see more of the same today.
Wet Morning
Morning showers and thunderstorms are likely, especially for areas in Lexington and north. Lightning is the main safety concern this morning, and we could see some high water issues in areas that have not yet recovered from last night.
Afternoon highs will be mostly in the 80s, and it will be another humid day. Temperatures will reach the low 90s in southern Kentucky, around Somerset, as rain chances hold off in the area.
Severe Weather Possible
Another round of storms is expected late this afternoon, lasting into the early evening. This could cause flash flooding and damaging winds, with the risk increasing as you move eastward towards Pike County. A Flood Watch has been issued for areas east of I-75, in effect through the evening.
Tuesday will be quieter, and it will feel significantly more comfortable due to low dewpoints…
