A 22-year-old Lexington woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the 2025 death of her newborn baby on Park Avenue.
Laken Snelling entered the guilty plea on Friday, August 21, 2026, confirming in court that her infant son was born alive. The plea comes nearly a year after police first launched an investigation into the child’s death.
Snelling addressed the court during her hearing, stating, “I was under a lot of emotional stress and my baby came unexpectedly. … And instead of helping him, I ended his life and afterwards I cleaned up and didn’t tell anyone.”…
