FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Congressman Andy Barr (R-Lexington) announced Wednesday a nearly $200,000 FEMA grant for three central Kentucky fire departments.

According to an Oct. 7 news release, Barr secured $190,476 in federal grants for fire departments in Versailles, Anderson County, and Frankfort to purchase a new mobile cascade trailer.
The trailer will reportedly be shared between the departments and allow fire crews to refill their self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) cylinders while responding to fires and other emergencies.
Barr voted to support the federal funding for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, which provides resources directly to fire departments and emergency response organizations across the nation.

“Our firefighters never hesitate to answer the call when their communities need them, and they deserve reliable equipment that helps them do their jobs safely,” Barr said. “This $190,476 grant will give firefighters in Versailles, Anderson County, and Frankfort a critical resource they can share when responding to emergencies across central Kentucky.”…
