November is here, and the Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball season is set to get underway. Game one is tonight, and Kenny Brooks’ 14th ranked squad will kick things off against Morehead State, looking to jumpstart their best season since his arrival.
Brooks has a talented and deep roster to work with led by center Clara Strack, who is one of the best interior players in the country. She’s one of three Wildcats to measure in at 6’5″, joined by talented forward Me’Arah O’Neal and Ajsa Sikva, a former top ten WNBA draft pick.
Guard play will be important for Kentucky this season. Asia Boone returns, and figures to be a key shooter from outside. Finding a steady point guard will determine how the season goes. Dominika Paurova and Diana Collins are veterans, but haven’t been asked to be true point guards. Freshman Maddyn Greenway is a talented freshman, but is she ready to start? They’ll find out more in tonight’s game…
