Tinted windshield bill presented in Ky. Senate to address blinding LED headlights

FRANKFORT, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A bill was approved unanimously on Wednesday in the Senate Transportation Committee in Frankfort.

Greg Elkins (R-Winchester) presented Senate Bill 46 , which aims to legalize fully tinted windshields as long as they allow 70% of light to pass through.

According to the bill, red and yellow tints are not allowed.

Elkins said he would bet most drivers can relate to being blinded by LED headlights while driving at night. He also believes it would protect workers from getting sunburns while driving for long hours.
