The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff has turned their focus to the 2025 recruiting class.
Coach John Calipari is trying to land Karter Knox, who would likely be the final piece in the 2024 class. Then, this staff needs to get going on the 2025 class that doesn’t have any commits yet. Kentucky has put together elite classes in 2023 and 2024, and Coach Calipari will look to do it again with the 2025 class.
One player Kentucky is pushing hard after is Jasper Johnson. He is ranked as the 12th best player in the 2025 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. The 6’4 170 pound combo guard just cut his list of schools down to ten, including Kentucky, Auburn, Kansas, Alabama, Baylor, Missouri, Louisville, North Carolina, USC, and West Virginia.
Joe Tipton of On3 interviewed Johnson about his contact with the Kentucky coaching staff. Jasper had this to say, “Coach Orlando (Antigua) reaches out to me probably every day. He wants me to come back home for my college season. They’re planning for me to be there for nine months and then off to the NBA, and that’s what I really want to do in college. I feel like if that’s the best option, then it could be there, but if it’s somewhere else, then it could be somewhere else.”
