FRANKFORT, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Cars, guns, and property seized in past drug crimes will soon be auctioned by the Kentucky State Police (KSP).
Records from the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet show local police and sheriff’s departments seized more than 6,000 firearms from suspected drug crimes in 2023.

KSP said the cash earned from the auction goes back to local police departments. It’s a big part of their budget.
The auction, held on Feb. 13, is not open to the public; only federally licensed dealers can register, per KSP.
