Kwane Watson, a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, is working to improve access to dental care in Kentucky. As the founder and CEO of Kare Mobile Inc., Watson is focused on increasing dental care availability in rural areas and for specific racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups. His role as the State Dental Director for Community Dental of Kentucky highlighted the need for dental care in Western and Eastern Kentucky, where many people face long waits due to a shortage of Medicaid providers.
In 2017, Watson started Kare Mobile, a mobile dental service, with the assistance of a friend skilled in food truck renovations. The service offers a variety of procedures, such as adult and child cleanings, root canals, extractions, and fillings. Watson aims to offer affordable, comprehensive dental services to low-income communities affected by the high cost of dental care.
Starting in Louisville, Kare Mobile has expanded to serve patients in several states, including Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Watson intends to further expand Kare Mobile to reach more communities and individuals lacking access to traditional dental services.
