Filed Kentucky bill would exempt churches, nonprofits from paying fundraiser sales tax

FRANKFORT, Ky. – A new bill in Frankfort would exempt churches and other nonprofits from paying sales tax. Taylorsville Rep. James Tipton filed House Bill 442. Under his bill, “resident, non-profit educational, charitable or religious institutions” would not have to pay taxes on the proceeds from fundraisers.
