John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats did not partake in SEC Saturday, instead taking on Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs in a marquee non-conference matchup that did not go their way as the Zags secured an 89-85 victory.
The loss is the third home loss in a row for the Wildcats and puts them in an uneasy spot getting back into conference play, although they were not the only highly regarded SEC squad to take a loss over the weekend.
Below is a look at every SEC game from Saturday and what the result means for the conference standings and the Wildcats as we draw closer to March:
Alabama 109, LSU 92
The Crimson Tide moved to 9-2 in SEC play with a big win over LSU on Saturday. Alabama drilled a whopping 18 three pointers, including a 6-9 day from deep by Latrell Wrightsell. Defense remains an issue for ‘Bama, but they were able to secure an easy victory despite giving up 92 points on the other end.
Meanwhile, the Tigers drop to 4-6 in conference play and have won just one of their last six games.
