First Alert Weather Day Continuing to see showers from remnants of Helene for our Sunday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – We have picked up a lot of rainfall across our region – with showers continuing for our Sunday. What was the center of Helene has fully made its extratropical transition into a low pressure system, and has stalled over parts of western Kentucky. Its for that reason we are continuing to see scattered showers wrapping around the system through our skies. More breaks in the rain for our day today – but keep that umbrella close, because while the rain feels scattered the tropical moisture is still persistent in our skies, and pop up showers are possible. Some cool winds with gusts peaking around 20mph for our day today.
