Week 6 brought euphoria for Vanderbilt when the Commodores stunned No. 1 Alabama , but the mood shifted in an instant on Saturday night during a game against Kentucky.
Vanderbilt DL Miles Capers went down with a scary head injury on a play during the second quarter of the SEC battle, temporarily delaying the game as medical personnel tended to the senior edge rusher.
Capers was placed on a backboard and stretchered off the field before the low-scoring game resumed in Lexington.
Here are the latest updates on Capers’ health after Saturday’s concerning injury.
Vanderbilt injury update
Capers was stabilized and carted off on a backboard after taking a hit to the head from a teammate at the end of a play. Capers was one of a few players attempting to stop Kentucky RB Demie Sumo-Karngbaye.
He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, but Vanderbilt labeled the move precautionary. That was confirmed when Capers reappeared on the sideline late in the game in a sight every fan was thrilled to see.
