LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Election day is two weeks from today and if you’re voting absentee this year, time is running out. Voters have until 11:59 p.m. local time to request a mail-in absentee ballot.
So far, more than 12,000 people have requested an absentee ballot here in Lexington and Fayette County Clerk Susan Lamb expects that number to grow by the end of today.
Lamb’s office has processed nearly all of those requests and ballots have been sent to just under 12,000 people.
Lamb said she and her team work hard to make sure the growing number of Kentuckians who vote absentee have enough time to vote and mail their ballots back to the clerk’s office.

Those voters should keep in mind that Kentucky does not have a postmark law, which means mail-in ballots cannot be counted if they arrive the next day or two days later, even if the postmark is Nov. 5.
