New Southern comfort food restaurant coming back to busy Lexington corner

A busy corner in Lexington long known for home-style cooking is coming back to life.

A new restaurant is going into the spot on Woodland and High that was once the original home of Ramsey’s and subsequent other eateries.

Now, Sabrina Booker, a longtime Lexington restaurant owner, is opening a restaurant called Sassy Bleu. Booker also is co-owner of MiMi’s Southern Style Cooking and formerly owned MiMi’s Soul-to-Go in Julietta Market at Greyline Station .

Booker has been in the restaurant business for 16 years and is expanding with the new solo venture, which she plans to open to customers in early November.

“It’s in the historic Woodland district of Lexington, and that location has a tradition of Southern food,” she said. “I’m bringing Southern food back to that corner.”
