The Lexington Police Department (LPD) told FOX 56 that it’s important to properly dispose of prescription drugs as well as educate the community in the process.

“With the amount of prescription medications that are out there, people have illnesses and ailments and whatnot. They end up not needing them after a while,” said Lieutenant Brandon Helm with the LPD, “So is there those languishing in your cabinets and just sitting there and not knowing what to do with them, or thinking about tossing them in the trash or washing them down the drain, just bring them over to us. That way we can properly dispose of them, and you won’t have to worry about it anymore. we can keep us out of the hands of kids or those that, don’t need those medications any longer.”
