GEORGETOWN, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Sadness, anger, fear, and confusion are the mix of emotions that Kristi Brandenburg feels more than a month after her cat, Gray Baby, was shot by her neighbor in Georgetown.
“Just doesn’t make any sense why somebody would do that. That evil could live right next door to you, it’s sickening. It’s appalling that somebody would do this to a pet,” said Kristi Brandenburg, Gray Baby’s mom.

The gunshot broke Gray Baby’s front leg and punctured his chest cavity. Brandenburg got him to a vet, where he was euthanized.
“He was in such pain and so scared… He was sweet. He would greet me every morning and every night. It’s just sad,” Brandenburg said.
According to the criminal complaint, Brandenburg’s neighbor, Christopher Jones, admitted to police that he shot the cat with a rifle, saying it was on his property, climbing on his vehicles, and being a nuisance.
