Winchester Police report that authorities responded to the area of South Burns and Euclid Avenue around 12:55 p.m. after receiving a call that shots had been fired in the area. About an hour later, three individuals were detained.
Out of an abundance of caution, Winchester Police and Clark County Schools Police “initiated certain lockdown procedures at schools in the area out of
an abundance of caution,” the department said in a Facebook post.
No shots were fired or suspects present on school property during the ‘event,’ and authorities assisted in the release of students during that time, police said.
Around 2 p.m., police located three suspects with a firearm. Those suspects are currently detained, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
All lockdown protocols in the district have been lifted.
