LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Mother Nature helped set the mood for spooky season, darkening skies and sending rain down as trick-or-treaters hit the streets; but it was not enough to stop rookies and veterans from their candy quest.
“I’m one of the three blind mice, the farmer’s wife, I got my tail,” said DeeDee Lanham, a Lexington resident.
Lanham and her husband enjoyed the festivities, dressing up in their costumes as trick-or-treaters walked to their door.
“I love seeing what the kids are going to dress up as. I love being fully dressed; the husband dresses in a full big foot suit,” said Lanham.

People in Hartland Estates restricted traffic on private roads, giving an extra measure of safety to the little ghosts and goblins.
“Those two areas [private road areas] have arranged for security to keep cars out but allow people on foot. so we’re just trying to protect anyone that comes in the neighborhood. Safety first,” said Lisa Richardson, member of the Hartland Homeowners Association board and interim property manager.
