LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The snipping of scissors and buzzing of clippers carried across the floor of Parlor Salon in Lexington Sunday as customers came in to get a stylish new look.
Parlor Salon hosted its third annual fundraiser on Sunday for an organization that addresses child and family homelessness in Fayette County.
Arbor Youth Services in Lexington works to provide a safe and supportive environment to
youth who have suffered abuse, abandonment, or are at risk of victimization, per the organization’s website.
Parlor Salon donated 100% of Sunday’s proceeds to Arbor Youth Services. Tyler Blackburn, owner and director at Parlor, said that for three years, this fundraiser has given him the chance to give back to the community that helped make his business a success.
“I’ll always want to be able to give back to my community. It serves me,” Blackburn said. “They can really give me a great canvas to work on their hair and that kind of thing. So it’s like, I want to make sure that I’m giving back in a way that, you know, I’m blessed to be able to do so.”
