LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The man killed in the fatal Richmond Road hit-and-run has been identified.
According to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, James Stamper, 47, of Paris died as a result of blunt force trauma injuries he sustained in the crash.
He was riding his moped when he was struck by a car, which proceeded to flee the scene.
The coroner’s report confirmed that Stamper was declared dead at 11:36 p.m. at the scene.

According to the police, at 11:10 p.m., officers received a call about a two-vehicle crash near the Squires Road intersection on Richmond Road.

At the scene, FOX 56 learned that a car and a moped had sustained heavy damage and had to be removed by a tow truck.
