LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – We have a fairly strong early Summer cold front sweeping across the Commonwealth. This is bringing a line of booming thunderstorms along for the ride with some absolutely awesome weather coming in behind it.
A broken line of showers and storms sweeps into the state this morning and will intensify as it moves eastward. The threat for a few severe storms increases as the storms get into the eastern half of the state and this is where the Storm Prediction Center has the Slight Risk for severe storms today.
Local wind damage is the primary player with these storms.
Temps today are in the 70s as gusty winds crank along and behind our front. These winds bring drier air in here as our temps stay VERY pleasant through the week. Lows hit the 50s for the next few mornings with highs in the 70s through Wednesday…
