Air traffic tower to temporarily close overnight at Blue Grass Airport

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Blue Grass Airport is set to briefly rearrange air traffic control operations to address staffing shortages.

On Thursday, the Kentucky Department of Aviation said there will be nights this month when it will be reducing staff on midnight shifts to provide better service during daytime hours, when traffic is usually busiest.

Officials said between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on those nights, air traffic controllers at the Indy Center will help out.
