First Alert Weather | Alexa Minton tracks another day of summer steam

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Another day of summertime steam is in store for our Sunday, bringing in muggy temps across the state. Temps start off in the low 70s and the upper 60s, with clear skies and sunshine.

As we head later into the day, our humidity levels are going to climb as well as our temperatures. By midday, we can expect temperatures in the 80s, and in the afternoon, some areas will reach the 90s. Our feels like temps will have folks extra steamy, with some of our northwestern counties under a heat advisory. Heat index values have the potential to reach the triple digits for some today.

There is an isolated chance to catch a shower this afternoon thanks to our high humidity levels, but many will stay entirely dry. The same will happen for Monday afternoon. The muggy weather and summer steam will continue into early in the work week…
