LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Lexington man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to possessing firearms illegally due to a prior felony conviction. Bryan Anicasio-Miranda, 23, admitted to the charge as part of a plea agreement filed in U.S. District Court, which detailed several firearm-related incidents and multiple encounters with law enforcement.
According to the plea agreement, on December 18, 2022, Georgetown Police stopped an Uber vehicle for a traffic violation and discovered Miranda as a passenger. Officers detected a strong marijuana odor and subsequently found approximately 32 grams of marijuana, several hundred dollars in cash, and a Glock 26 handgun loaded with a round in the chamber and a thirty-round magazine in Miranda’s pocket.
On September 26, 2023, Miranda was involved in a high-speed pursuit across multiple counties, reaching speeds up to 120 mph. The chase ended when the vehicle he was in crashed into a stone fence.
