Lexington has activated Phase One of its Extreme Heat Plan, opening cooling centers throughout the city to help residents escape dangerous temperatures.
“We are looking to protect the most vulnerable people out there,” said Robert Larkin, Lexington-Fayette County Emergency Management Director.
