LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – We’re wrapping up June on an active note as storms roll through to close out the month and also help jump-start the week of the Fourth of July. Some of these storms could pack a punch today and linger into Monday before things begin to settle and cool down heading toward Independence Day.
Temperatures today are back in that sticky zone, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop, and a few may become strong or even severe by late afternoon and evening.
