Just after midnight Saturday, a violent collision at the intersection of West Second Street and North Broadway in Lexington sent two people to the hospital and left one vehicle overturned. But beyond the flashing lights and bent metal, the crash has reignited concerns among residents about persistent safety risks at the busy corner.
According to the Lexington Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on July 6 when two vehicles collided in the intersection, leaving one flipped on its side. First responders had to extract one of the victims trapped inside the vehicle before both injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
