FIRST ALERT | Scattered storms return for the work week ahead

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – We have another steamy summer day in our forecast, with a few isolated chances in the afternoon. Temps start off in the low end of the 70s and climb quickly into the 80s, thanks to some sunshine sticking at the start of the day.

This afternoon promises temps sizzling into the 90s, and lingering humidity has us feeling warmer, closer towards the triple digits. With the scattered sunshine will come some scattered storms, rolling in from areas in western Kentucky. It won’t be a widespread washout, but keep your umbrella close in the afternoon.

Higher humidity persists into Monday, and while temperatures climb into the 90s in the afternoon, scattered storms are expected to return in the second half of the day. Rounds of rain continue into the work week ahead, with showers and storm chances pushing through all the way through Friday…
