Kentucky lawsuit accuses companies of unfairly inflating rental prices

KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — The cost of comfortable living is too expensive for many people, and a lawsuit filed by Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman claims it is unfairly inflated at several properties in Kentucky.

Coleman said it is a software company that is behind the predatory practice. He claims RealPage Inc. compiles algorithms and competitor data to suggest rental prices for landlords, using non-public information, with the intent of charging the highest rents possible.
