GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — While lives were taken in Sunday’s shooting, police technology played a role in making sure the death toll wasn’t even higher. On Monday, a showcase of police technology was brought to Georgetown.
Whether it’s drones, tasers, or body cameras, police have a lot of tools in their arsenal to serve their communities. The technology company Axon Enterprise came to the Georgetown Police Department to showcase how this technology is evolving.
“Our goal is to reduce police officer-related deaths by 50% by 2030. We’re doing that by using various less lethal technologies such as the taser, which we used with the targets, as well as providing different resources to help officers better do their jobs, drive efficiency, and ensure that they have the information they need to write reports and better help the community,” Cardinale with Axon said.
